Experience
I attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth and obtained a MS in applied mathematics. I currently work for a Department of Defense contractor as an algorithm developer. I have two years of experience as a graduate teaching assistant. Additionally, I have three years of tutoring experience in both math and physics. My passion is for math and sharing that love with others. However, even though one of my favorite subjects to teach is math, math has not always been an easy subject for me. Many times during my schooling, I would become frustrated, angry, and overwhelmed when working on math problems and learning new concepts. I can relate to students who are feeling this same way. I understand how difficult math can be for some students. I can share my experiences with students and help them overcome their frustrations. I help them understand that math is really about puzzles and solving them. I love when a student has an 'aha' moment when they figured something out. In addition to math, I can tutor in a variety of subjects including computer science, college entrance exam prep (English, reading, verbal), and science.When I am not tutoring, I enjoy riding motorcycles, data science competitions, and playing with my dogs and cat.
